DPW crews are out repairing water main valves along Capitol and Mayfield as well as Mayfield and Plymouth.

Given the size of the main and valves, we are experiencing some discolored water west to Stark, north to Schoolcraft, east to Merriman and south to Joy.

Additional crews are being sent out to flush hydrants to mitigate the disturbance. Repairs and flushing efforts are expected to be complete by this afternoon.

If you are experiencing brown water, run the cold water in your home's lowest point until it runs clear.

There is NO boil water alert in effect.

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

Fatal Stabbing – Update

As a result of the ongoing investigation, Livonia Police Detectives have determined that the victim and suspects were observed at BioLife Plasma Services center located on Plymouth Rd. in Livonia prior to the fatal stabbing. Investigators determined that one of the suspects stole the victim’s backpack while at the location. The victim subsequently followed the suspects to a nearby location and confronted them, at which time a physical altercation occurred. During the confrontation, the victim sustained a single stab wound to the upper chest by one of the suspects. The suspects fled the scene into a neighboring city.

The victim has been identified as Nicholos Hatcher, a 34-year-old male resident of Detroit.

Based on evidence collected at the scene and follow-up leads, Livonia Police Detectives were able to identify, locate, and arrest the individual believed to be responsible for the fatal stabbing. Detectives identified the second individual, who was present during the stabbing, and arrested him. The investigation remains active as detectives continue to process evidence and pursue all aspects of the case. Our investigation will be presented to the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office, where determination of charges will be decided.

The investigation remains ongoing.
