The Friends of the Livonia Public Library have announced the recipient of their Annual Senior Scholarship. This scholarship is awarded annually to a student who has demonstrated exceptional volunteerism by assisting the library friends with various programs and activities. This year’s winner is Livonia Central School Senior, Gavin Seeley. Throughout his high school years, Gavin has consistently volunteered to help with book sales. His help was key in getting a group of friends and classmates together each September, moving 100s of crated books to the Patterson Room for the Friends annual book sales during the Autumn in the Village Festival. Gavin also helped set up the books on the tables and make sure the sale ran smoothly.

Recognizing Gavin’s outstanding contributions, the Friends of the Livonia Public Library unanimously recommended him for the Senior Scholarship. We extend our heartfelt congratulations and best wishes for his continued success in his future endeavors.

The Friends had fun helping the library with its Family Bingo tonight! Great turnout, and as usual, Jeanne M’s engaging number-calling made the night entertaining for everyone.

CALL FOR GENTLY USED BOOKS! The Friends of the Livonia Public Library are holding a book drop for this year’s Annual Book Sale during the Autumn in the Village Festival on September 12. We will be collecting your generous donations of books on Monday, June 22 from Noon-6pm. Bring your good condition books and DVDs to the Patterson Room at the Livonia Library, 2 Washington Street. Just bring your boxes and we will help carry them in for you! Please no damaged, yellowed, or dirty items, and no textbooks or magazines. Questions? Contact the friends at
