September is Library Card Sign-Up Month!

We want to make sure that every child has the most important school supply of all—a library card. Every child who signs up for a Livonia Public Library card at the Bennett Civic Center Library or Carl Sandburg Library during the month of September will receive a FREE book.

Help your child start the school year with a library card and a new favorite book! 🎉

Livonia Public Library and the Livonia City Clerk have teamed up for an all-day celebration of National Voter Registration Day!

Need to register to vote? Have questions about voting in Livonia? Staff from the Clerk's office will be on-site all day to help. We have voting themed events for all ages and some special furry visitors from Michigan Humane that will be popping by to say hi.

Plus: grab a coloring page and cast your ballot for your favorite storybook character or American author. Everyone who votes gets a chance to win a book bundle! 📚

Plan ahead! All branches of the Livonia Public Library will be closed Saturday, September 5 through Monday, September 7 for the Labor Day holiday.

Please note, the drive-up book drop at the Bennett Civic Center Library will be CLOSED and locked during this time. You will still be able to return items to the exterior book drops at both locations that drop directly into the building.

Prefer to wait until the drive-up return is open? No problem! We're a fine free library so feel free to enjoy your items through the holiday closure and we'll see you when we reopen on Tuesday, September 8.

Sandburg Library is temporarily closed today: Friday, August 21 due to water main repairs on Seven Mile. The library will reopen with regular business hours on Monday, August 24. Thank you for your patience as crews complete these important repairs.
