Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...

Southeastern Polk County in southeastern Texas...

Until 530 PM CDT.

At 441 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Coldspring,
or 12 miles southwest of Livingston, moving east at 45 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

Locations impacted include...
Livingston, Shepherd, Coldspring, Goodrich, Lake Livingston State
Park, Alabama-Coushatta Reservation, southern West Livingston, and Segno.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building.

Alabama-Coushatta Tribal offices will be closed today, Wednesday, September 2, 2026 due the impact of severe weather.

Flood watch is currently in effect for the area. There are some roads on the reservation that are unsafe for commute due to flooding. We will continue to monitor the situation with our Office of Emergency Management.
