Thanks to our gracious hosts, Katabatic Brewing, we're having a fundraiser for Green Acres Park Improvement Project. We'll have finger foods, music by children from the community, a 50/50 raffle and a silent auction. This is a family friendly event, please plan to attend and show your support for this important community project!
Background
Green Acres Park is located in the northeast portion of Livingston, MT just outside the city boundary on Park County property. It is located within a residential neighborhood with excellent connectivity to the surrounding area. In 2014, the County completed an Inventory and Assessment on the park and as a result removed the majority of the old playground equipment due to safety concerns.
Since that time, park usage has significantly decreased while vandalism has increased. Green Acres Park has a great deal of potential. With a few recommended improvements, this park will once again serve as a safe and fun destination for Park County residents.
The Friends of Green Acres Park envisions the park becoming a safe place where children of all abilities can play together, and a park that is developmentally appropriate for children with and without disabilities. They would like it to serve as an inclusive playground that takes away the barriers to exclusion, both physical and social, providing a “sensory rich” experience for all.
