At the Town Hall meeting tonight, Sept. 8th, 7:00pm in Bridger, MT, there will be the report on the Brownfield's Assistance detailed assessment of the Memorial Park Building. Bridger Historical Society is hoping to help restore whatever we can of this historic building and park, especially the unique stone fireplace and chimney and the many rock features and fountain, with the over 200 # pieces of petrified wood!
We welcome you to come give your ideas and support to the town council. We are very grateful to Nan Knight for her help in this assistance!

At short notice, there will be an historic walking tour around Bridger, Thursday Sept. 3rd at 5:00 pm. Cost is $10 for ages 12 and up.

If anyone is interested in a trip to the Northern Pacific Railway depot and museum in Livingston next Wednesday, artist Mary Michael, who will be sculpting our Jim Bridger bust for the monument, is having a sculpture unveiling!
At 9am, Wednesday, September 2nd, travelers to the noon event will leave from the Zier Gallery to cheer Mary on!

A call out to people who lived in Bridger from 1920-1964. A researcher is looking for photos of Harold Bourret, or any stories or information about Harold in Bridger. He graduated in 1922, and the historical society would like to find the class picture from 1922. Bridger, MT did not have an annual at that time, but each member of the class would have been given this group photo when they graduated.

Bridger Historical Society is looking for a Class picture of the graduates of Bridger 1922. Any articles or memories from the class of 1922 would also be appreciated!
The school has a copy of the class of 1917, then 1929 and none inbetween.

We had a beautiful day for a Fieldtrip and a great group of people. This is the north end of the site where 20 years of water fights set the precedent for western water rights.
A few hardy vehicles climbed up to the big ice cave and had a cool treat!

Bridger Montana Historical Society August meeting will be Wednesday, August 19th, 6:00 pm. It will be at the Wham building (Grey building next to the civic center) and we will have some newly discovered historical stories!

Sage Creek Dam Fieldtrip is ON. Roads are rough, but passable with a 4x4. However, if it rains heavily Saturday, Aug. 15, morning, it will be postponed one week.

DATE CHANGE TO AUGUST 22ND, SATURDAY.

Coming up this Saturday, August 15th, Bridger Historical Society will have a fieldtrip to the Sage Creek Dam and the Big Ice Caves on Pryor Mountain.
Leaving from the Zier Gallery at 120 S. Main Street, Bridger, we will caravan out at 9:00 am. We will see one of the major sites which featured in the 'water wars' and from which case the United States set all the laws for western water rights.
Bring a lunch, drinks and appropriate clothing for the weather. Our lunch will be at the Big Ice caves on up the mountain. A short walk away, and the Ice Cave is very cool - literally. You may want a jacket or sweater.
The walk to the cave will be about 1/4 mile. The walk to the dam is about 20 yards.
Anyone is welcome. Plan to use 4x4 vehicles.
