Town of Livingston Police Department

Est. 1918, Livingston Police Dept. has been serving our community & residents with honor and pride.

Almost 25 years ago, Randy Dufrene started his career as a police officer for the Town of Livingston, first, as a reserve officer and then, in January of 1986, as a full time police officer. After honing his skills as a police officer for 20 years, the voters of Livingston elected Randy as their Chief of Police in 2004. In that capacity, Chief Dufrene attended and graduated from Louisiana Law Enforcement Executive Management Institute for Chiefs, becoming the first Town of Livingston Chief of Police to do so. In order to provide the residents of Livingston with the best possible law enforcement techniques, Chief Dufrene has continued to attend classes and seminars, including graduating from the Louisiana Post Academy. Because of the diligence and dedication of Chief Dufrene, the modern Livingston Police Department is a unit of four (4) full time and four (4) part time police professionals utilizing the latest police techniques and equipment in order to make Livingston a safer and better place to live and raise a family.

Happy Monday Livingston!

It is that time of the year Livingstonians .....

We are celebrating 5 years of the THIN PINK LINE Campaign!!!!

5 years ago the Livingston Police Department started this campaign to help all we could with Breast Cancer Awareness. The mission was simple... raise awareness and any funds we could to help our community.

It was also important for us to keep our money as local as possible so that we knew our impact was benefiting the citizens of Livingston Parish. Our beneficiary Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Survivorship Center (formerly called Cancer Services) located in Baton Rouge, La does just that, by servicing our great parish.

Now to the fun part..... THE PINK UNITS!!!!!!!!!

We have 5 Police Cars from 5 different police departments in the parish, 1 fire truck and 1 tow truck!!!!! All about to hit the road October 1st.

We are super proud of our very own
Ofc. Sparacello. This evening he and
Lt. Wadsworth attended the Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office awards dinner. Ofc. Sparacello was presented with a “Life Saving” award at the dinner. This award stemmed from a medical call involving a juvenile patient where the actions and quick response of Ofc. Sparacello did indeed save a life.

Help us congratulate Ofc. Sparacello on this award 🥇 👏!!!!

Thank you Sheriff Jason Ard Livingston Parish for recognizing our Department and Ofc. Sparacello this evening. 🙏

Some of you may have seen us at Cain’s Supermarket earlier this evening … well we know y’all need the tea 🫖….🙄 y’all went straight to the “book of Faces” to start asking who, what, when, where…..

A few of Livingston’s finest were assisting a Veteran that needed a helping hand…

Our veterans have been through more than many of us can even imagine… the simple day to day tasks we are challenged with can be a little more difficult for a veteran sometimes …

Sometimes their reactions to these tasks we consider normal can be a little spooky for civilians observing … Being willing to listen goes a long ways…

We got you sir and thank you for your service 🇺🇸! 🫡

Well the summer 🏖️ has come to an end folks….. it’s back to school 🏫 time…
the munchkins will be hitting the road tomorrow in the ole cheese wagon 🚌.

Pleaseeeeee 🙏 keep your eyes 👀 open for our kiddos 🚶. School Zones will be in effect and NOT a SUGGESTION. 🚓🚓

🚨 UPDATE 🚨
Officer Sparacello conducted a follow-up on this young man who was bitten by a Copperhead earlier this week. After being released from the hospital the next day, he is expected to make a full recovery!
