HOW ABOUT SOME GOOD NEWS: HEROES SAVING A LIFE AT SCHOOL.
A quick response by staff saved the day at Rickman Elementary School in Overton County, TN.
Ciara Johnson says they saved her grandfsther’s life and tells me:
—-
Nick,
My grandfather is 73 and had been a custodian at Rickman Elementary School for the past fifteen years.
Thursday morning started as a normal day, until it wasn’t.
A teacher passed by his custodian room, and heard him making a noise.
She stopped to check on him and within a couple of minutes the school staffers had the AED on on him and prepared the first shock.
My grandpa was turning grey and had no pulse.
First responders kept working with CPR and my grandpa’s life was saved.
He suffered a massive heart attack, but now has had surgery and is doing wonderful!
The staff’s reaction was incredible!
They acted fast, and just never gave up.
So thankful for them!

Indeed, and Rickman Elementsry shared this photo of the heroes and wrote:

Preparation turned into action when our Rickman Elementary Response Team used their training and an AED during a life‑threatening emergency involving one of our custodians.
Because of their swift response, a life was saved. Thank you to our team for proving that training matters—and for reminding us how important it is to be ready.
