Look in the mirror. It's on that person to speak up now.

Gloria Steinem, the indefatigable feminist and journalist whose activism revolutionized the personal and professional lives of women, has died. She was 92.

Steinem “passed away peacefully at her home in New York City, surrounded by some of the many who loved her,” a post on her official Instagram page said Thursday. It added that she had died on Wednesday.

“Gloria’s near-century on earth were years well-lived, and she continued working for equality until the very end,” the post said. It did not say how she died.

A pioneer of the 1960s’ era of second-wave feminism, Steinem dedicated her life to causes ranging from reproductive freedom and domestic violence prevention to workplace gender inequalities.

The whole country just lost the one person that actually brought us all together.

Her nephew announced it on her own accounts this afternoon: she died peacefully in Nashville at 80, with no cause given, a year and a half after losing Carl, her husband of 59 years.

Just days ago she was telling People about the "hard times" her health had given her since his death — still working, still promoting, still Dolly to the last hour.

The fourth of twelve kids from a cabin in the Smokies wrote the radical stuff in sequins so radio wouldn't notice.

"Just Because I'm a Woman" called out the double standard in 1968.
"Down From Dover" told the truth about u***d pregnancy when stations refused to play it.
"9 to 5" turned typing-pool rage into a #1 hit and a labor anthem that never retired.

By her own telling, she wrote "Jolene" and "I Will Always Love You" in one afternoon — the latter to walk away from the man who controlled her career, so sweetly he thanked her.

Two refusals of the Presidential Medal of Freedom, because she didn't perform for administrations.
