🗞️ The growing historical mural projects along the interior walls of TDCJ - Allan B. Polunsky Unit has officially unveiled its newest addition a painted portrait commemorating Donald Trump as the 47th President of The United States 📰 Joining an expansive series of presidential and cultural tributes designed to transform the facility's environment, this portrait marks the latest milestone in documenting American leadership.🖌️🖼️Painted by talented hands within the facility, the mural serves as an educational visual anchor and reflects the ongoing efforts to integrate public art, history, and rehabilitation into the everyday environment of Polunsky.

The Office of the Inspector General shared recent case updates at the 248th Board Meeting. 📊 OIG reported 71 arrests between June 18 and August 23, 2026. OIG also cited 52 convictions secured by the Special Prosecution Unit and one conviction from a Strap Alert case.

It's easy to judge a book by its cover, or a person by their uniform. But stories like this remind us how powerful a little empathy can be. An inmate shared how a Correctional Officer stepped up and truly supported his mom during a devastating moment of need. Growing up in the system, he had always viewed officers as the opposition. But seeing an officer treat his mother with dignity and kindness completely changed his perspective.

It's a powerful reminder that empathy belongs everywhere. One act of kindness can completely rewrite how a person sees the world 🌎

🎓Transformation in Action at Polunsky!

Hope and transformation were front and center at TDCJ - Allan B. Polunsky Unit during the recent Prison Fellowship Academy graduation. A resilient cohort of 30 men stepped up to receive their diplomas, marking the completion of a rigorous journey of personal growth. Congratulations to all graduates 👏 The success of the program owes a massive debt of gratitude to PFA Manager Joshua Screws, whose outstanding job and unwavering support anchored the class. The uplifting atmosphere was made even more special by the families, visitors, and guest speakers who traveled to attend. Following the ceremony, families and graduates cherished quality time together over lunch- a fitting end to a day defined by community and new beginnings.

Once again Huge shout-out to PFA Manager Joshua Screws for doing an outstanding job leading this cohort and making this day possible! Thank you to all the family members, visitors, and speakers who came out to show their support.
