For three years, Livermore Public Library and STEPS by Kei-Che have been bringing bilingual ASL storytelling, songs, laughter, and community to the
Livermore community and families come from all over the Bay Area to be part of it! 💛
Whether you’re brand-new to signing, fluent in ASL, learning alongside your little one, or simply curious, you BELONG here. 🫶🏿 Our Saturdays bring together babies, kids, parents, grandparents, Deaf and hearing families, and everyone in between.

📗🌳 On Saturday, Sept. 12, 2026 bring a blanket to sit on the grass for a special outdoor Music and Movement class at 10:15 a.m. at Lester J. Knott Park, located at 655 N. Mines Rd., Livermore, California 94551.

Autumn Storytimes in the Park are in a different location on select Saturdays and will be moved to Civic Center Library in inclement weather. To receive email notification when storytime is moved or canceled, call 925-373-5500 to sign up for the optional Storytime in the Park mailing list.

Attention Pokémon trainers! We have a new date for the next PokéSWAP. Please join us on Friday, Sept. 25 at 4 p.m. in the Civic Center Library Storytime Room. Attendees will have the opportunity to trade cards with other Pokémon enthusiasts. Trading is encouraged, but not mandatory.

📔 Meet award-winning author, translator, and arts activist, Aida Salazar for a talk about her latest books, "Stream" and "Sing Me a Story." Learn about her writing journey, followed by an audience Q&A. Aida's books will be available for purchase at the event from Towne Center Books.

Aida Salazar is an award-winning author, translator, and arts activist whose writings explore issues of identity and social justice. Her critically acclaimed verse novels and picture books have received over twenty five awards including an ALA Caldecott Honor, ALA Pura Belpre Honor, Malka Penn Human Rights in Children's Literature Award, The Américas Award, The Tomás Rivera Book Award, NSK Nuesdtat Finalist, International Latino Book Awards among other distinctions. She lives with her family of artists in Oakland, CA.

🌙✨ Discover a whole new side of nature after dark! Join Livermore Public Library and a Livermore Area Recreation and Park District - LARPD Ranger for Park After Dark: UV Hike on Friday, Sept. 18, from 8 - 10 p.m. at Holdener Park.

Explore the fascinating world of biofluorescence, bioluminescence, and nighttime pollinators during a slow-paced 1.5- to 2-mile hike under the light of a near full moon. UV flashlights will be available to borrow or bring your own if you have one. You're also welcome to bring a flashlight or headlamp, though their use will be limited during portions of the hike.
