Livermore Bike Park

Livermore Bike Park The central meeting place for our community to strategize, coordinate, and do the real leg work to build a bike skills park in Livermore.

The Livermore Bike Skills Park Facebook Group is the central meeting place for our community to strategize, coordinate, and organize volunteers to do the real leg work to build a new bike skills park in town. Ideally, the park will have a pump track, dirt jumps, Strider track, skills area and an observation area with shade and picnic tables. The first step is to show support ("Like our page"), des

ign and submit a proposal to LARPD, and research other bike parks to find out what works well and what common problems to avoid. Once the proposal is approved we will need community input on the park design, help with fundraising including potentially recruiting local businesses as sponsors, and plenty of volunteers to help with building and maintenance of the bike skills park.

Construction Update…

There is a new curb under construction around the perimeter of the park. It is where the turf will be tacked on the outside edge. It will really tie the room together. The park is still closed of course, but the Ribbon Cutting is only 16 days out.

We have a GoFundMe up right now to raise $2500 to purchase Kali bike helmets to give to park riders that need them. This group has over 1,200 followers! If everyone chipped in $2, we would be there. Currently, we are $320 (Thanks to those folks!). How awesome would it be to announce we are donating 50+ helmets to the community at the Ribbon Cutting!!!

Hello Friends,

After 12+ years of work, the Pump Track is weeks from being open. We want everyone to love it. We also want everyone to be safe. So, let’s team up and spend a couple of bucks to get premier Kali Maha helmets to riders of all levels that need them.

Construction Update…

The path repaving and expansion is done. Now there is a smooth path right to the Pump Track gate. It is not open for use yet, but looks great. The West side benches got some new planks. Most of the turf is done but still 2 more rolls going down on the outer perimeter. The Ribbon Cutting is 3 weeks from today at 5:30 pm. Getting close!

Construction Update…

Pretty windy at the park this morning. The new benches are installed and look great. Turf is mostly complete. Lots of work completed last week on the new path and parking spots, but still roped off. We will see how this week goes.
***The Ribbon Cutting time has been changed to 5:30 pm. It is still on for Wednesday June 17th.***

Great news from our friends in Folsom!

The newly reimagined Folsom Bike Park officially celebrates its grand reopening Saturday, May 16, with a full day of riding, demos, jump jams, raffles and family activities as the longtime community riding destination returns following a complete redesign.
The project was completed through a partnership between the City of Folsom and FATRAC, with world-renowned trail builders Randy Spangler and Greg Watts leading the redesign of the park’s features and riding areas. The updated park was designed to create a progressive riding experience for everyone from first-time riders and younger cyclists to advanced riders.
The grand reopening celebration will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and include professional rider demonstrations, bike safety checks, raffle prizes from community partners and a jump jam showcasing the park’s new features.
The reopening also highlights a strong community effort behind the project, with more than $31,000 raised to help rebuild and sustain the park for the future. Volunteer support and future maintenance days hosted through FATRAC will continue helping maintain the trails and riding surfaces.
The Folsom Bike Park is open daily from dawn to 9 p.m. and is limited to non-motorized bicycles only. Helmets are required, and the park closes during wet conditions to protect riding surfaces.

Construction Update…

Big update this week! The shade structure is up. The landscape team has started laying the artificial turf. The colors of the shade and grass really add nice elements to the grey of the concrete. The modification of the path started too, with a ton of tape marking off the zone. The detour moves traffic out through the parking lot. The handicap parking spaces are marked off for repainting. It will be a busy week at Sunken Gardens.

Reminder that the Ribbon Cutting is Wednesday June 17th at 6:00 pm.
