Hot weather is here, Livermore! A Heat Advisory remains in effect through 10 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 10, with temperatures expected to reach around 100 degrees.

Please take care of yourself and those around you during the heat:
β€’ Drink plenty of water
β€’ Limit strenuous outdoor activities, especially during the hottest part of the day
β€’ Wear lightweight, loose-fitting clothing
β€’ Check in with older adults, neighbors, and others who may be especially vulnerable to heat
β€’ Never leave children or pets unattended in a vehicle

If you need a break from the heat, you are welcome to visit the following air-conditioned public facilities during regular business hours:

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR COMMUNITY SERVICE DAY! πŸ› οΈπŸŒ±

Mark your calendars for Saturday, September 19th! Join the City of Livermore, LARPD, and LVJUSD for Livermore’s annual Community Service Day as we come together to beautify our town and support our schools.

We have fantastic volunteer projects lined up at several of our campus sites:

β€’ Junction Avenue TK-8
β€’ Lawrence Elementary
β€’ Livermore High School
β€’ Marylin Avenue STEAM Academy
β€’ Smith Elementary
β€’ Sunset Elementary

Start your morning at 8:00 AM at the Robert Livermore Community Center for a free breakfast hosted by the Livermore-Pleasanton Firefighters Foundation, pick up your event t-shirt, and then head out to your school project site from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM.

This is a wonderful, family-friendly way for students, parents, and community members to give back to our local schools!

We are excited to welcome Dustin Claussen to the City as our new administrative services director!

Dustin brings more than 20 years of experience in finance and administration, including more than a decade of leadership in local government. He most recently served as deputy city manager for the City of San Leandro and previously spent more than 10 years with the City of Hayward, where he served as assistant city manager and finance director.

As City Manager Marianna A. Burch shared, "His financial expertise, collaborative leadership style, and commitment to employee development will strengthen our exceptional organization. These qualities will help our team continue delivering the high-quality service our community expects."
