Hi everyone! Safety Officer Blaze here!

Have you ever wondered what all those tools, hoses, gauges, and compartments on a fire truck are used for? Or why firefighters carry so much equipment?

Starting next week, I'll be taking you Behind the Bay Doors at the Livermore Falls Fire Department to give you an inside look at the apparatus, equipment, and tools that help firefighters protect our community every day.

Over the coming weeks, we'll explore:
🚒 Fire apparatus
🧯 Firefighting equipment
🪜 Ladders and rescue tools
📡 Radios and communication equipment
🔥 Wildland firefighting gear
👨‍🚒 The equipment firefighters rely on when responding to emergencies

🏠 Do you know where to meet?

Every family should have: 📍 One safe meeting place outside

Blaze says your meeting place could be:
🌳 A tree
📬 A mailbox
🚗 The end of the driveway

And remember…
🔥 Once you get outside — STAY outside
🚫 Never go back inside for toys, pets, or belongings

Firefighters will help.

Ask your family tonight: “Where is our meeting place?”

Long before modern turnout gear, LED lights, and enclosed cabs… firefighters proudly rode through the streets of Livermore Falls in open-air apparatus like our 1926 Maxim.

For generations, Memorial Day parades and community events brought neighbors together along Main Street — waving flags, honoring veterans, and watching the fire trucks roll by. For many in our community, these moments became lifelong memories.

What makes these photos truly special isn’t just the apparatus itself… it’s the people behind the wheel, riding the tailboard, and carrying on the traditions of the Livermore Falls Fire Department.

Today, those traditions continue with a new generation of firefighters proudly serving the same community.
