This week, the Live Oak Police Department, alongside members of LOCAP, hosted the 2026 Junior Police Academy. Throughout the program, cadets gained valuable insight into a variety of law enforcement and public safety topics, including Telecommunications, K9 operations, Fire safety, Bullying and Internet Safety, Drugs and Peer Pressure, Impaired Driving, SWAT operations, and the importance of being a responsible citizen.
The Cadets enjoyed hands-on demonstrations featuring less-lethal tools and fire safety practices, providing a firsthand look at the critical work performed by police officers, firefighters, and other first responders each day.
Each participant received a graduation certificate during the formal graduation ceremony held at Randolph Brooks Federal Credit Union.
A special thank you to the officers, firefighters, LOCAP, volunteers, and instructors who generously shared their time and expertise to make this year's Junior Police Academy both educational and memorable. Your dedication helped inspire and equip the next generation of community leaders.
