Early ice activity has begun following the cold spell! Reminder that the lake is not fully frozen and ice thickness varies throughout. Conditions are sketch..🫠
Ice safety checklist:
• Check thickness as you go
• Wear a flotation device
• Bring safety equipment
• Don’t go alone
No ice is safe ice.

Today, rangers from Chatfield, Cherry Creek and Boyd Lake participated in the Brendan Unitt Boat Rescue Training Day.

It was a great training to honor and remember Brendan, who made the ultimate sacrifice 5 years ago today. Brendan gave his life to save others who needed help. We will continue to carry on Brendan’s legacy and make him proud.

Did you know Chatfield has several life jacket loaner stations?

The one pictured above is at the Swim Beach, available to those recreating who need to borrow a life jacket! There are also life jacket loaner stations are both our North Ramp and South Ramp.

Stay tuned- we are also finishing building two more life jacket loaner stations at the Gravel Pond/Kingfisher and Catfish Flats areas of the park!
