Scheels, a major sporting goods retailer, has shown interest in building a destination store at the Mineral Place development in south Littleton, with a possible opening date of 2029. Littleton has not yet approved an incentive agreement with Scheels. Moving forward with a store requires city council’s support of the proposed agreement which will be presented on September 15. 🏅 The City of Littleton continues to receive recognition for the work of its employees and the quality of its community projects.

Senior Transportation Planner Emily Kleinfelter was named the 2026 Way to Go Commuter of the Year by the Denver Regional Council of Governments (DRCOG). The annual Way to Go awards recognize individuals and organizations that help reduce the number of people who drive to work alone, supporting efforts to reduce traffic congestion and improve air quality.

Littleton also received a 2026 Metro Vision Award from DRCOG for the Safer Streets Practice Park. The project, a partnership involving the City of Littleton, East Community Center and Littleton Public Schools, was recognized for excellence, innovation, collaboration, and leadership in addressing community needs. The Practice Park at East Community Center provides an opportunity for community members to learn and practice safe transportation skills in a dedicated environment.

🚧 Weekend Traffic Alert 🚧 Lane closures are scheduled around Santa Fe Drive and Mineral Avenue beginning Friday, September 11 at 7 p.m. through Sunday, September 13 at 6 p.m. Additionally, a single eastbound lane on Mineral Avenue to Jackass Hill Road will be closed during this time.

These closures are related to the Evergreen development project happening in the area. Please plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and use caution when traveling through the area. Thank you for your patience as this work progresses.

Photographers can submit up to five photos capturing life in Littleton at its best. Members of the city’s Arts & Culture Board will select 13 photos to be featured in the 2027 Littleton Calendar.

Students, young adults, and business owners are invited to join us for conversations about climate and community tomorrow, Wednesday, September 9.

These conversations are a place for community members to share their perspectives about current and potential future climate impacts in the places that matter most. Community input will help inform the city’s Climate Risk & Vulnerability Assessment (CRVA).

There are two separate events, one geared towards students and young adults at Arapahoe Community College (ACC), and another for businesses and community-based organizations at Kiln Coworking Space.
