Whitcomb Ave. Paving Tomorrow

A paving crew plans to be onsite tomorrow to pave Whitcomb Avenue, between Nancy’s Way and the Harvard town line. This work will require a detour around the work zone.

Local traffic, traffic to the daycare in the work zone, and school buses will be allowed through. Please follow the instructions of the detail officers.

Commuters through this area, please seek an alternate route, such as Old Littleton Road and Oak Hill Road to travel from Harvard to Littleton.

Dave’s Back Home

Our assistant general manager, David Ketchen, returned to the office last week after about two weeks on a mutual aid mission to the North Pacific. The Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, a US Territory whose power grid was devastated by a typhoon, sought technical assistance through the American Public Power Association. LELWD answered the call and dispatched Dave who helped the island’s public power provider with the plan to set up temporary power generators and a plan to restore its power plants.

While in Saipan, the capital city, Dave advised the Commonwealth Utilities Corporation. He is shown with CUC Executive Director Kevin Watson and CFO Betty Terlaje.

LELWD has a strong commitment to providing mutual aid to fellow public power providers, and on occasion, LELWD has requested assistance. The expense of mutual aid is paid for by the requesting utility. For LELWD, mutual aid provides an opportunity for staff to gain new experiences and professional growth they can apply when they return home.

We wish our Commonwealth Utilities Corporation colleagues and the residents of the Northern Mariana Islands best of luck as they recover from the typhoon.

LELWD Team Ranks in Top 5 in Lineman Contest

Three LELWD linemen competed at the 2026 Lineworkers Rodeo in Lincoln, NH!

Lineworkers from 21 New England public power providers gathered for the competition and education sessions. The rodeos give lineworkers a chance to showcase their skill, teamwork, dedication, and safety practices.

NEPPA’s 18th Annual Lineworkers Rodeo featured three-person teams competing in six events designed to strengthen technical skills, reinforce safe work practices, build job knowledge, and foster strong working relationships across public power utilities.

We’re proud our team placed in the Top 5. Congratulations to (right to left) Jake Pinard, Third Class Lineman, Gavin Duhamel, Second Class Lineman, and Ryan Dame, Second Class Lineman, shown with Jay Valera, Lead Lineman at Hudson Light & Power.
