Remember that tomorrow is Heritage Day in Mondamin. Start with breakfast at 7:30 a.m. at the Church of Christ. The vendors in the park are open at 9:00 a.m. Then join the parade at 10:30. (If you plan to be in the parade, registration begins at 9:00.)
Following the parade, come to the park for all kinds of games and prizes! There will be raffles, a dunk tank, pony rides, food and drink stands, vendors, kiddie train rides, a horseshoe contest, and a silent auction in the Jimmy King Shelter.

Come place your bids on some of the most delectable desserts made by the best bakers in the area! We will have pies, cakes, cinnamon rolls, scotcheroos, homemade ice cream, and more! Don't miss this opportunity to get some yummy items!

MANDATORY EVACUATION ordered for Fort Robinson State Park as South Fork Fire spreads

CRAWFORD, Neb. — A mandatory evacuation is now in effect for Fort Robinson State Park as crews respond to the fast-moving South Fork Fire.
Officials are directing evacuees to Chadron, Alliance, or Scottsbluff. Highway 20 is closed from Fort Robinson to Harrison, and the park is closed until further notice.
The latest estimate shows the fire at nearly 9,000 acres and 0% contained.
