Hey everyone! BLSA and LALSA are throwing a banquet together and we would love for you guys to be a part of it! Student tickets are $20 and require student ID at check in. Individual tickets are $50. Any plus ones for students will have to pay the individual ticket price. There’s gonna be a live painting, awesome speakers, dinner, complimentary wine, and we’ll be giving out awards/scholarships! We hope to see you there!

We are selling t-shirts to promote awareness of the recent racial injustices.

The shirts are $15 each, and 50% of the the proceeds will be donated to the Social Justice Institute at Philander Smith.

MarKita Watts is one of our spring graduates.

Hometown: Camden, Arkansas

Brief bio: MarKita obtained her undergraduate degree from Philander Smith College in Little Rock. While in law school, she was a member of the Arkansas Association of Women Lawyers - Bowen Student Chapter and the Christian Legal Society. In our chapter, MarKita served as the Part-time Liaison for the 2018-2019 term.

Post-grad plans: MarKita aspires to pursue a legal career as a criminal defense attorney.

Shaquika "Shay" Randolph is one of our spring graduates.

Hometown: Native of Chicago, Illinois, but North Little Rock holds a special place in her heart

Brief bio: Shay attended Spelman College in Atlanta, GA for her undergraduate degree. While in law school, she served as an honor investigator for the Student Bar Association (SBA), the full-time Vice President for SBA, a member of the Dean's Student Advisory Council, a student representative for the Curriculum Committee, a member of Phi Alpha Delta, a member of Trial Team, the Head Student Representative for BARBRI, and a member of the Journal of Social Change and Public Service. In our chapter, Shay served as the President for the 2018-2019 term.

Post-grad plans: After graduation and passing the Bar, she hopes to enter the work field and gain meaningful experience as an attorney.

Aisosa Osaretin is one of our winter graduates.

Hometown: Benin city in Edo State, Nigeria

Brief Bio: Aisosa obtained a bachelor's degree in Philosophy from the University of Benin. She is a concurrent student at the Clinton School of Public Service with a passion and focus on human rights. During her time at Bowen, Aisosa's affiliations included the Arkansas Association of Women Lawyers - Bowen Student Chapter and Christian Legal Society where she served as the 2018-2019 Vice President. In our chapter, she served as President for the 2019-2020 term.

Post-grad plans: Aisosa's goal is to defend the rights of victims of conflicts at the international level. Her long term goal is to do this at the African Union or the United Nations. In the meantime, her every step targets the fulfillment of these goals.

Congratulations, Aisosa! We can't wait to see all that you will accomplish!
