This annual event is always fun and educational. Come check it out!

Saddle up, partners! Celebrate National Bike Month at the 3rd Annual Southwest Bike Rodeo Saturday, May 9th from 10 am - 12 pm.

The Central Arkansas Library System (CALS) Dee Brown Library, Recycle Bikes for Kids, and Southwest Community Center team up for the wildest ride in town - teaching kids how to wrangle their two-wheeled broncos!

This isn’t your average bike event - it's a full-on bicycle rodeo featuring volunteers who can help conduct bike safety inspections, guide young riders through a corral of skills stations, and fit protective helmets. Young buckaroos ages 8 and older who can already balance and pedal their steel steeds are strongly encouraged to join the roundup.

No horse in your stable? No problem! Recycle Bikes for Kids is lassoing up free bicycles for the first 30 registered participants who show up ready to ride. Don't miss your chance to grab the reins on this rootin' tootin' opportunity!

Great things are happening at CALS Dee Brown Library from two League of American Bicyclists League Cycling Instructors!

First, they are offering a Smart Cycling Class. This is for adults who can already balance on a bike. The class teaches how to more safely ride with traffic on the street in two parts, a classroom component and a practical skills component.

A couple of weeks ago, a resident of Zibilla Court reached out to the City of Little Rock, AR - Government asking for a safer crossing of Breckenridge Drive. Several families have young children who wanted safer access to Little Rock Parks & Recreation's Colony West Park. Our Traffic Engineers were on the case, creating Safe Routes to Parks and independent, outdoor recreation opportunities for our youth!
