When Republicans voted for the Working Families Tax Cuts last year, we included $50 billion for the Rural Health Transformation Program, a historic investment in rural health care nationwide.
Arkansas was awarded $209 million for FY26, and yesterday, Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders announced the first round of that funding: $149.3 million for projects across the state, including more than 40 that will directly benefit Arkansas’s Second Congressional District.
A few highlights:
✅Conway Regional Health System: Launching a Maternal Mobile Health Unit serving Faulkner, Conway, Perry, Pope, Johnson, Yell, Van Buren, and Cleburne counties.
✅White County Medical Center: Expanding breast cancer screening and imaging, replacing critical roof infrastructure at Unity Health Newport, and growing chronic care services in White and Jackson counties.
✅ARcare: Upgrading remote patient monitoring and telehealth micro-clinics serving Faulkner and White counties.
✅Wolfe Street Foundation: Installing telehealth kiosks and expanding peer recovery services across Pulaski, Saline, Faulkner, Van Buren, and Searcy counties.
✅Doula Alliance of Arkansas: Placing certified doulas in partner clinics statewide to support rural mothers from pregnancy through six months postpartum.
✅Arkansas Children’s: Building a statewide remote monitoring and virtual care network for rural children with chronic conditions like asthma and diabetes.
✅Arkansas Ambulance Association: Replacing ambulances and adding telehealth and patient-monitoring equipment statewide through its EMS-Connect initiative.
This funding is the latest example of how the Working Families Tax Cuts are delivering for hardworking Arkansans.
