I became a lawyer 50 years ago. I’ve been lucky enough to serve as a judge the past 13 years, presiding over two different levels of the Arkansas Court System. I have close friends and colleagues in all Courts.

From my experience, I know one thing about judging to be unqualifiedly true-across the board:

Judges don’t run courts.

Courts are run by dedicated civil servants who are underpaid, and always under-appreciated.

Today, Pulaski County Government honored 4 such dedicated folks who make me look good, and selflessly serve Pulaski County District Court.

These aren’t the only dedicated employees at our shop-these were the ones honored today.

Thanks, and Congratulations, to Chelonda Freeman, Jeanne Jimenez, Marjorie Gipson, and Tyler Witham who were honored today for 5 to 15 years of service!

We have almost twenty other standouts. I can’t wait to salute them all.
