The Arkansas County Clerks Association had a great meeting this week in Saline County. During an association dinner, attendees took time to recognize the clerks who are retiring at the end of the year and new board members were sworn in. Last week, the County Judges Association of Arkansas gathered in Saline County for a great meeting. The conference included discussions about health and property insurance, rural health, workplace injuries and cybersecurity. The association also recognized judges who are retiring at the end of the year.

The County Judges Association of Arkansas took time during its Fall Meeting to recognize judges who are retiring at the end of the year and to thank them for their years of service. Clark County Judge Troy Tucker and Benton County Judge Barry Moehring also shared stories from their time in office and gave some words of encouragement.

The County Judges Association of Arkansas Fall Meeting continued today in Saline County. The day started with a panel of judges speaking about how they handle health insurance plans in their respective counties, and attendees heard a presentation from Senior Worker's Comp Claims Administrator Misty Petrus about how to prevent injuries. During the association luncheon, Westrock Coffee CEO and Co-Founder Scott Ford shared the inspiring story of the company's founding.

The County Judges Association of Arkansas kicked off its Fall Meeting Wednesday in Saline County. The first day of the meeting included discussions about insurance coverage, county budgets and civic space as well as networking opportunities for judges.

At the 2026 AAC Annual Conference luncheon, Baxter County Sheriff John Montgomery was named this year's recipient of the Wes Fowler Advocacy Award. During the award ceremony, AAC Board President Debbie Wise and AAC Executive Director Chris Villines commended Montgomery for his work over the years to improve his county and the entire state.
"We are thankful for Sheriff John Montgomery and his friendship – and especially for your amazing vision for what counties can be," Villines said.

The 2026 AAC Annual Conference kicked off today in Garland County. Following the opening general session, attendees attended association meetings and a joint meeting of the Senate and House City, County and Local Affairs Committee.
