The Arkansas County Clerks Association hosted a forum today with the three Secretary of State candidates. Kim Hammer (R), Kelly Grappe (D), and Michael Pakko (L) answered various questions regarding elections in Arkansas, and they shared their plans for improving the Secretary of State office.

The Arkansas Association of County Clerks kicked off its June meeting Wednesday at the Ozark Folk Center in Stone County. The clerks heard a presentation from GIS Director Shelby Johnson and discussed cybersecurity best practices with Jeff Pracht from Mainsteam Technologies.

County collectors officially kicked off their spring continuing education meeting in Fort Smith this morning.

The Arkansas Sheriffs' Association Summer meeting is underway in Sebastian County. The day started with the swearing in of Faulkner County Sheriff Tim Ryals as the new president for the association.
Following joint trainings for sheriffs and jail administrators, National Sheriffs Association President Chris West, of Oklahoma, spoke during the conference luncheon. Sheriffs and jail administrators will continue attending training this afternoon and tomorrow morning.

Monday, the Arkansas Coroners’ Association hosted a Sudden Unexpected Infant Death Investigation training in Saline County. Saline County Office of the Coroner, Kevin Cleghorn led the training for current coroners, coroners-elect, deputy coroners and law enforcement.
