Our favorite part of World Literacy Day… reading buddies!!! We do this a few times a year and our students get so excited about it.
There aren’t many times our older students get to see and meet our younger students, but when they have an opportunity to read a book to them… they LOVE IT! 📚

Thank you Dr. Cathy Jones, retired professor from Coastal Carolina University for reading to our 1st grade students today! Dr. Jones was a professor for many of our current teachers during her tenure at CCU from 2007-17.

Thank you Mr. Ben Prince for reading to our 1st graders today in Ms. Fullum’s class! Mr. Prince is the Chief Officer of Operations for Horry County Schools! He also brought some amazing and HUNGRY caterpillars with him! 🐛

Our water tower started overflowing towards the end of the day after recess. This had no affect on our students.
This happens from time to time. I immediately notified Grand Strand Water and Sewer, and someone was out to turn it off in less than 20 minutes.
The main office assured me when this happens, they know about it.

Remember if you see something happen to call the front office so we can notify the proper authorities.

We have a new nurse that's joining Nurse Kim!!! Let us introduce Nurse Wendy!

Here's a little about Nurse Wendy Rogers...
I'm originally from Raleigh, NC. Have been coming to NMB since I was a child. And have been fortunate to call NMB my home full time for a little longer than 5 years now. I have been married for 32 years with two wonderful grown boys. Hunter is a firefighter in Leland, NC and Holden is a Chemist with Eli Lilly in Indianapolis. Their four legged, sun loving, sister is named Ali ❤️ I love the beach! Riding on our boat! But most importantly, I love when our family is all together! It makes my heart whole! I was previously the school nurse at Carolina Forest Elementary School several years ago and missed the kids, staff and parents and was blessed when Waterway Elementary became available. I am so excited to be a part of this Waterway family and I am ready for a safe and exciting school year!
