Next, let’s get to meet Teri Werner!

Teri is a Certified Parent Educator and has a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. She holds minors in Psychology and Health Education and has a Special Education Endorsement. She has taught in both public and private school settings and has taught regular education and pre-school special needs here in Horry County. Teri grew up in Baltimore and had a soccer scholarship while attending college. She has two teenage children and a big, lazy dog named Camo.

Teri’s positivity emanates everywhere she goes! She plans and problem-solves not only with her mind but her heart, which has proven to be a wonderful asset to her coworkers and to the families she serves! We are grateful for her work.

Miss Werner serves near and around the Carolina Forest medical site. To reach out to her directly, give her a call at 843-591-5748 or e-mail [email protected]

Get to meet our staff! First up is Parent Educator, Amy Grogan. Let's hear from her:

"My name is Amy Grogan and I have been a Certified Parent Educator at Little River Medical Center for 2 and half years. I have an associate's degree in Early Childhood education. For the past 27 years, I have worked in the early childhood field in many capacities from owning/directing a Child Development Center, to teaching infants through school-aged children. We love our Group Connections! P.A.T Group Connections are group events on different educational or recreational topics. It's also a wonderful chance for our families to get to know one another😊 On March 2nd, to celebrate Dr. Seuss's birthday, we hosted a virtual Dr. Seuss Story Telling Time. Parent Educators also gave tips on how to read to your kids and how to identify what books are appropriate for your little one's age range. We later drew a raffle with every participants' name and one lucky winner received a Walmart gift card. Congratulations to our winner, Naomi, well deserved!🥳 Join us for our next Group Connection, you might be the next winner to take a prize home!😊

Today at 4 P.M. we will be having this year's first group connection🥳 A group connection is an opportunity to increase social connections among parents, form new support networks, share common experiences, and discover new ideas for addressing the day-to-day challenges of parenting. They are also an opportunity for parent educators to share information about child development, parent-child interaction, development centered parenting, and family well being.

This month's Group Connection is about starting the year off right! If you or your little one(s) are feeling extra stressed, restless, or tired these days, this is a session you won't want to miss out on!

To join, e-mail Parent Educator, Daniella Martinez at [email protected] with, "Join Group Connection" to be sent a video chat invitation. See you there!
