Friday in The Flock

A message from your mayor 6/19/2026. Good Friday afternoon, everyone! 🐦
This week I was blessed to join municipal leaders from across Arkansas at the 92nd Annual Municipal League Convention in Little Rock. It is always an honor to represent our community, learn new things, and build relationships with fellow public servants from around the state.
Over two and a half days, I attended numerous sessions covering a wide range of topics—from workers' compensation and municipal finance to legislative issues, including Issue 3. Opportunities like these help ensure that local leaders stay informed and equipped to serve their communities effectively.
One thing that has always stood out to me when attending these conventions is the genuine love and dedication people have for their hometowns. Whether they represent a city of a few hundred residents or many thousands, you can tell that for most of them, this is far more than a job. It is a calling to serve their neighbors and leave their communities better than they found them. Being surrounded by that kind of passion is both encouraging and inspiring.
As we celebrate Juneteenth today and Father's Day this weekend, I want to wish each of you a wonderful few days with family and friends. May your weekend be filled with love, joy, peace, and gratitude.
Thank you for helping make Little Flock such a special place to call home.
Be blessed!
– Mayor V

Friday in The Flock

A message from your mayor 6/12/2026. Good Friday afternoon, everyone! 🐦

As we wrap up another week, I want to reiterate how much I appreciate our staff. They kept things running smoothly while I was away, and I can never thank them enough for all of their hard work and dedication.

Construction Update – Yep, buildings are still being built. We've reached that phase where things are almost there, but not quite. As my father says every time I ask if we're almost done with a task, "Yep, we just lack finishing up." Better yet, picture the Tom Hanks movie The Money Pit, where the contractors always respond with, "Two weeks," whenever they're asked how much longer something will take.

Due to my absence last week, we held our Department Head meeting this week. A large portion of the discussion centered around the arrival of the EPA and ADEQ for our first-ever MS4 (Stormwater) audit, which began Wednesday and concluded Thursday. I am grateful to our Street Department, our City Engineer, and the team from the U of A for their efforts throughout the two-day process. A tremendous amount of work goes into ensuring compliance with the many rules and regulations associated with stormwater management, and for many of these individuals, it means taking on additional responsibilities beyond their regular duties.

We also held our Community Engagement Meeting on Wednesday morning, and I am grateful to everyone who attended. Those present asked thoughtful questions about happenings within and around our community, which is exactly the purpose of these meetings. Open dialogue helps us all stay informed and connected.

Looking ahead, we have our City Council Meeting on Monday, June 15, at 6:00 p.m. Then, on Wednesday, I'll be heading to Little Rock to join municipal leaders from across the state at the 92nd Arkansas Municipal League Summer Convention.

Thank you for making Little Flock such a wonderful place to live, serve, and call home.

Whether you're traveling, tackling projects around the house, or simply enjoying a little downtime, I hope you have a safe and relaxing weekend.

— Mayor V
