MN Army National Guard State OCS MN Army National Guard State OCS is a program that gives soldiers the opportunity to become officers. 175th RTI (OCS)

State OCS is a 3 - Phase program.

Phase 1 is a 2 week AT at Camp Ripley, MN. Phase 1 candidates receive military subject classes, land navigation, and leadership training under high stress conditions. Phase one is extremely demanding physically and mentally. Phase 2 includes IDT weekends where candidates learn tactical and small unit leadership skills. Candidates must pass a series of academic exams on various subjects along with

physical fitness test. There are also FTXs that are also conducted during the months before Phase 3. Phase 3 conceits of a 2 week AT period at JB Lewis -McChord where candidates focus on tactical operations and preparing candidates for the officer environment. Candidate School Curriculum:
- Leadership development
- How to plan and conduct training
- Communications
- Tactics/FTXs/Survival
- Map reading/Land navigation
- General military subjects
