Mikie Sherrill has declared a State of Emergency for New Jersey effective Sunday, February 22 at 12:00 PM due to an approaching severe winter storm.

🌨 Expected impacts:
• Blizzard conditions
• 10+ inches of snow statewide
• Wind gusts up to 55 mph
• Hazardous travel

⚠️ Little Falls Township Notice:
All vehicles MUST be removed from roadways to allow DPW crews to salt and plow safely.
Vehicles left on the street will be ticketed and towed. 🚓

❄️Winter Storm Update:

All vehicles must be removed from roadways immediately. Police are actively ticketing and towing vehicles in accordance with the current State of Emergency. Plows are in operation and will continue throughout the day to clear roadways. Residents are advised not to travel and to remain off all roadways to allow crews to operate safely.

Winter Storm Preparedness – Little Falls, NJ ❄️

New Jersey American Water is preparing for the winter storm forecasted for January 24, including snow and a freezing wintry mix. The company has initiated readiness efforts to help protect water and wastewater facilities and distribution systems, including testing generators, securing supplies, and adjusting staffing plans.

Little Falls residents are encouraged to prepare by protecting exposed pipes, locating main water shut-off valves, and ensuring contact information is up to date in their MyWater accounts. Any water emergencies or service disruptions should be reported at emergency.amwater.com.

Governor Mikie Sherrill has declared a State of Emergency for all 21 NJ Counties, effective Saturday January 24 at 5:00 PM, due to a severe winter storm.

❄️Expected impacts:
• 12+ inches of snow statewide
• Dangerous cold and wind gusts up to 30 mph
• Extremely hazardous travel from Saturday night through Monday

🚫Avoid travel. Stay home if possible
🚗ALL VEHICLES must be removed from roadways before snowfall begins to allow snowplows to salt and clear roads.
⚠️VEHICLES LEFT ON ROADWAYS WILL BE TICKETED AND TOWED

🚛Commercial vehicle restrictions begin 12:01 AM Sunday, January 25 on major highways statewide, including I-76, I-78, I-80, I-195, I-280, I-287, I-295, I-676, and Route 440.

❄️Winter Storm & Arctic Cold Alert❄️

A significant winter storm is likely late Saturday night through Monday, with a high chance (>85%) of 6”+ of snow and a ~50% chance of 12”+. The heaviest snow is expected Sunday into Sunday night, bringing dangerous travel, blowing/drifting snow, and major disruptions.

In addition, prolonged frigid air arrives Friday night through mid-next week, with temperatures staying well below freezing and sub-zero wind chills possible.
