MN Medical Detachment MN MEDICAL DETACHMENT Mihiel, and Meuse-Argonne. The unit motto of “Heal the Warrior” was founded there in combat and reminds us today of our warrior heritage.

The unit began as the 204th Medical Battalion and honorably served throughout World War I in the following places: Lorraine (1918), Champagne (1918), Champagne-Marne, Aisne-Marne, St. The 204th Battalion continued wartime service during World War II in the following campaigns: Tunisia, Naples-Foggia, Anzio, Rome-Arno, North Apennines, and Po Valley. The 204th Medical Battalion became a subordinate

unit of the MNARNG 47th Infantry Division on 10 June 1946 and received federal recognition as such on 1 April 1948. The 204th Medical Battalion was later ordered to active military service on 16 January 1951 until 2 December 1954 when it reverted to state control. Company B, 204th Medical Battalion was redesignated the Medical Detachment of Minnesota (MED DET-MN) in 2002 and was charged with support of statewide medical readiness: the mission it continues today.

MN Medical Detachment held the Commander Cup Competition this drill weekend! Consisting of 5 seperate events soldiers completed an obstacle course, land navigation course, tactical combat casualty care scenario, litter course, and 3.7 mile ruck.

The team of First Lieutenant Allison Jasper, Staff Sergeant Jacob Petersen, Staff Sergeant Skyler Gonterman, Staff Sergeant Ezbone Kibogo, and Sergeant Joshua Cid received Army Achievement Medals for placing first in the competition. Congrats to them on crushing it!!!

Thanks to everyone who made the event go smoothly. What a fantastic day of team building, outdoor activities, and friendly competition!

MN Medical Detachment held a change of command ceremony in honor of transitioning unit Commander leadership.

We warmly welcome Major Brandon Schomberg, who will bring his experience and vision to lead us forward. We look forward to the continued success under his command.

Major Daniel Gurtner has served with distinction, leading the unit to recieve the Best Overall Medical Readiness Award Large State in 2023 and 2024. We extend our sincere gratitude for his dedication and wish him well in his future assignment.
