As fall breezes approach and the days grow shorter we get ready for ghosts 👻

There is still time to get your spot for this years Ghost Hunt at Herkimer Home! More timeslots are available and will sell out soon. Call today to book your hands on experience alongside the Central New York Ghost Hunting team as you search our grounds for evidence of the paranormal.

Day two of our militia muster weekend has begun! Come visit with us from 10-4 on this beautiful Sunday and learn about the local militia forces raised in defense of our fine valley 250 years ago.

Daily programming includes militia drill, artillery demos, loyalty oaths, foodways programming, children’s toys and games and more!

We are only a half hour from the start of Muster Weekend at Herkimer Home and we are stepping off on our march from Indian Castle Church. See you at 11 when we arrive on site!!

Don’t miss out on our 250 programming today as we read off the original roster after camp is set at noon.

Additional programming throughout the day includes hearth cooking, blacksmithing, loyalty oaths, toys and games, artillery demonstrations and more!

Tents are up and we are only a day away from our militia encampment starting tomorrow! Come visit with us from 10-4 and learn about the militia forces that were raised to defend our valley during the Revolutionary War.

Make sure to be here at noon and witness the official mustering in and roll call of the militia as we reenact the formation of Tryon County’s ranger companies formed on this day 250 years ago!

Come join us as we celebrate the formation of the Tryon County Militia this weekend at Herkimer Home!

We are happy to join with Indian Castle Church on Saturday morning where our militia forces will start their march in before setting camp on the grounds of Herkimer’s historic mansion. The church will remain open throughout the day for public tours so make sure you get over there!

Herkimer Home State Historic Site is happy to announce the last of our official 250th programming for this season: In Defense of the Valley, Tryon County Militia Muster. This event is scheduled for August 29th and 30th, and will mark the 250th anniversary of the formation and mustering of the Tryon
