It is with profound sadness that the Little Falls Police Department announces the passing of Retired Detective Captain Robert “Bob” Riker on June 12, 2026, at the age of 78.
Captain Riker joined the Little Falls Police Department in 1969 and faithfully served our community for 30 years before retiring in 1999 as Detective Captain. Between the years of 1987 and 1988 he served as Acting-Chief of the agency.
His dedication to public service extended beyond law enforcement through his many years of service with the Eagle Rescue First Aid Squad and Enterprise Fire Company No. 2.
Captain Riker’s commitment to Little Falls and its residents left a lasting impact on our department and community. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his beloved wife, Kathleen, his children, grandchildren, great-granddaughter, brother, extended family, friends, and former colleagues.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Santangelo Funeral Home, 635 McBride Avenue, Woodland Park. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, June 19, 2026, at 11:30 a.m., with guests welcome to arrive beginning at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at Laurel Grove Cemetery in Totowa.
