Rain and thunderstorm chances will increase across North and Central Texas Sunday and continue into Monday as a frontal boundary settles into the region. The primary concerns will be frequent lightning and periods of heavy rainfall. While not everyone will see flooding, localized flooding may develop where storms repeatedly move over the same locations or move slowly. If you have outdoor plans this weekend, be prepared for possible interruptions due to nearby thunderstorms and keep up with the latest forecast updates.

A weak front approaching from the north will bring scattered thunderstorms to portions of North Texas late tonight through Friday afternoon. The greatest storm coverage is expected generally north of I-20 from after midnight through midday Friday. While the overall severe weather threat remains low, a few storms may produce gusty winds and frequent lightning. Most locations south of I-20 are expected to remain dry and warm, with afternoon temperatures reaching the low to mid 90s.

Scattered showers and storms will continue on and off through Sunday morning, mainly across North Texas. Severe weather is not anticipated though a couple stronger storms may produce gusty winds and frequent lightning. The main concern will be periodic heavy rain that will result in or exacerbate localized flooding. Make sure to never drive through flooded roads and to give yourself extra time on the roads!

Heads up, Little Elm.

Heads up, Denton County!

As showers and thunderstorms this morning continue to weaken, another round of storms is expected this afternoon and tonight across North and Central Texas. The greatest storm coverage is expected west of I-35 and north of US-377.

Heavy rainfall may lead to isolated flash flooding, while stronger storms could produce frequent lightning, gusty winds, and hail. Stay weather aware, monitor the latest forecasts, and never drive through flooded roadways.

Good morning, A Flood Watch is in effect for portions of North Texas, including Denton County, mainly near/north of I-20 and near/west of I-35 through 4 PM Sunday. Periodic heavy rain with isolated rainfall totals up to 6-8 inches in the Watch area will increase the potential for flash flooding. Remember to never drive through flooded roads, and have an alternate route in place!

06/05/2026

Scattered showers and storms will continue into Saturday. It will not be raining all day Saturday, but do stay weather aware if you have outdoor plans!

The heavy rain and flash flooding threat will increase Saturday evening and night across parts of North TX. Turn Around, Don't Drown!

06/05/2026

Storm chances will be highest over the weekend as a slow moving upper disturbance spreads through the Southern Plains. The severe weather threat remains low, though stronger storms could produce gusty winds, frequent lightning, small hail, and heavy rain. The flooding threat will increase in areas that observe training storms.
