The Little Elm Police Department was proud to partner with the FBI Dallas Division, the North Texas Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, and 90 other law enforcement agencies across Texas during Operation Soteria Shield 2026.

Conducted throughout March and April, this coordinated operation focused on identifying offenders who exploit children online, rescuing victims, and bringing predators to justice.

As a result of the operation:

▪️ 276 child exploitation arrests
▪️ 89 children rescued
▪️ 91 law enforcement agencies involved
▪️ 197 law enforcement personnel participating

These cases involved crimes such as online solicitation of minors, possession and distribution of child sexual abuse material, trafficking, and other child exploitation-related offenses.

While the numbers are significant, the real impact is measured in lives changed and children protected. Operations like Soteria Shield demonstrate what can be accomplished when local, state, and federal partners unite with a shared mission to protect the most vulnerable members of our communities.

The Little Elm Police Department remains committed to working alongside our partners to identify offenders, support victims, and ensure that those who prey on children are held accountable.

When K-9 Bossk got fan mail from Oregon, he naturally insisted on writing back. 🐾✉️

A huge thank you to Alice Anne for the sweet letter and for supporting our officers and K-9 team all the way from Oregon.

Officer Hartman helped with the spelling since Bossk still struggles typing with paws. Expect our letter in 3-5 days, Alice!🦴🐶

Today, we proudly celebrate three of Little Elm Police Department’s newest officers. Congratulations to Officer Menz, Officer Scroggins, and Officer Downs on graduating from Denton Police Academy and officially being sworn in today. 👮‍♀️👮‍♂️👮‍♂️

Over the next few weeks, they’ll complete agency-specific training before beginning the Field Training Officer program and hitting the streets alongside our team.

Please join us in congratulating these three as they begin their law enforcement careers serving the Little Elm community. We’re excited to have them on board and look forward to the positive impact they’ll make in keeping our town safe.

The Town of Little Elm has been made aware of fraudulent emails being sent to applicants regarding Planning & Zoning review fees.

These emails are NOT from the Town of Little Elm. Scammers are using fake email addresses designed to look similar to official Town email accounts, including: [email protected]

Please remember:
• Official Town of Little Elm emails will come from a .gov email address.
• The Town will NEVER request payment via wire transfer.
• All legitimate payments should ONLY be made through your MyGov portal.
• Planning & Zoning Commissioners do NOT contact applicants directly regarding payments.

If you receive a suspicious email:
• Do not send money
• Do not provide personal information
• Verify the sender’s email address carefully
• Contact the Town directly if you are unsure

Please help us spread the word and protect others in our community!

During this morning’s Citizens Police Academy ride-along, officers encountered a suspicious individual attempting to jaywalk across the roadway. 🐢

Unfortunately for him, slow and steady does NOT win the race when it comes to traffic safety. After a brief investigation, the suspect was safely escorted to a more suitable location. No citations were issued… this time.

PSA: Please use designated crossings and always watch for traffic, whether you’re walking on two legs or four.

Turns out Officer Williams’ tear really did make him famous. 😂

After our SRO summer countdown video went viral, students started printing screenshots of “the tear” and asking him for autographs in the hallways. We can officially confirm he has now signed over 100 photos and may or may not be accepting representation at this time. 🎬✍️
