May Community Outreach Update!

May was an exciting and busy month for us at Warwick Ambulance Association! We proudly hosted our first Open House, certified 76 individuals in CPR, and taught several Stop the Bleed classes throughout the community.

We were also honored to welcome Senator Malone, who presented us with a citation recognizing our 70 years of dedicated service to the community.

Thank you to everyone who participated, supported our programs, and helped make this month such a success. Here are a few photos highlighting a great month of outreach, education, and service!

Warwick Community Ambulance and Lancaster County Deputy Coroner Scott Spangler are partnering together for an EMS continuing education course, covering the topic of understanding the coroner system.

This upcoming class will provide EMS providers and healthcare professionals with an informative overview of death and dying within the prehospital and investigative setting. Participants will gain a better understanding of the coroner system, including the responsibilities of the coroner and the role of the death investigator during various types of cases.

Topics will include recognizing reportable deaths, determining when the coroner should be contacted, and understanding the legal and procedural responsibilities surrounding deaths in the field. The course will also discuss the process of death notifications, including communication techniques and professional considerations when speaking with family members during difficult situations.

This course will provide EMS providers with 2 hours of Con-ed.
Please use this link to register for the class by 6/10/26: https://events.ninthbrain.com/?companyId=112932&eventid=14c82caf-c7ec-4664-ac63-64ae87fd761d

This week's spotlight, we are introducing our very own Black Cloud Baddie, Jackie Miller! Here is everything you need to know in her own words!

Hi! I’m Jackie. I am an advanced EMT and have been in EMS for 5 years. I have worked at Warwick Community Ambulance for all those 5 years. I am actually the first EMT-Basic and the first EMT-Advanced that Warwick sent to class. I am an FTO and enjoy teaching people. This year at our awards ceremony, I won an award for “biggest black cloud” and “most meds given,” and I sure earned it! It's a known thing that I usually don’t get a “quiet” shift, and most of the weird or strange calls we get, I'm on it! Before getting into EMS, I ran an in-home daycare for years, as well as worked with adults who have intellectual disabilities.

I have 4 sons. My oldest is 16, my twins are 11, and my youngest is almost 9! So to say we stay busy is an understatement! The winter months are filled with wrestling, and the summer months are filled with lots of outdoor activities! Hiking, camping, and beach trips.

Thanks for all that you do, Jackie!
