Official Lisle District 202 social media feeds are intended to be a limited public forum. The purpose of the District’s social media feeds is to share information and celebrate news of relevance to the Lisle 202 community a
nd to allow limited, respectful, relevant dialogue by members of the community. While we encourage conversation, users who post, or comment, on Lisle District 202 social media feeds must comply with the expectations below. Individuals who do not meet these expectations may have their posts/comments removed and/or be blocked from the District’s social media feed(s). Posts/comments must:
-Be relevant to Lisle District 202 or the school, program, department, class, club, activity, or team that operates the social media feed to which you are posting
-Use appropriate language for the school community (for example, language that conflicts with the educational mission of the District, or that would violate Board Policy 8:30 if used on school property, will be removed)
-Be submitted by an individual user and not be spam
Posts/comments must not:
-Bully, intimidate, or harass any user, or include content that is abusive, hateful, or threatening
-Use language that is defamatory, discriminatory, or vulgar
-Contain content that is obscene, pornographic, or sexually explicit
-Advocate for or incite unlawful activity or violence, or contain graphic or gratuitous violence
-Contain sensitive personal identifying information (i.e. student addresses, student date of birth, student number, etc.)
-Use the District’s logos or otherwise include content that makes it look like the individual is speaking on behalf of the District or its Board of Education
-Violate the law or Lisle District 202 Board Policy
-Advertise or promote a commercial product or service, or any entity or individual
-Promote or endorse political campaigns or candidates
Please be aware that users participate at their own risk and assume personal responsibility for their comments, username, and any information provided. The District reserves the right to report any violation of the social media platform’s terms and conditions to the host of the social media platform so the platform may take appropriate responsive action. Do not use the District’s social media feeds in place of contacting a building administrator or teacher to discuss individual student matters or in the event of an emergency, when 911 or local law enforcement should be contacted directly. The comments and posts expressed by community members on the District’s social media feeds do not necessarily reflect the opinions and/or position of the Lisle 202 Board of Education or its employees.
