Built as a canal feeder in the 1830s, this park is now a peaceful retreat with scenic lake views, great fishing, picnic areas, camping under mature pines, and boating access with ramps and dock rentals.

We have bait available at the park office and camp store this year as we have had some requests for it. Again this year, we have it in sustainable containers to promote our sustainability efforts. Recycling made easy to keep our park clean and green. We do have some water and fish down on the Dam side of the lake, please stay away from the construction area.

The Dam Construction Project is well on its way!

Updates (03/27/26)

The contractor has set up their field office and started installing perimeter fencing, signage, and erosion controls. Reminder The entire construction site is inaccessible to the public. Cameras have been installed and remote monitoring is taking place.

Coffer dam has been installed and normal lake drain path has been plugged and piped around the spillway for demolition.

Spillway demolition is underway and nearly complete.
The state park campground will open this spring.

Reminder: No vehicles are allowed on the dry lake bed but, fishing is permitted outside of the construction area.
Construction project is moving well and is on-time with projected schedule.

Although public access to the construction site is prohibited, periodic photos of the work site and current progress will be posted.

Just a reminder! There is no dock contracts being sent out or any dock fees due this year due to the lake being down.
