PRESS RELEASE
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
On June 10, 2026, at approximately 2:39 p.m., the Lisbon Communications Center received a report from Androscoggin County 911 that a male subject had threatened several juveniles with a firearm in the area of Berry Avenue and Campus Avenue in Lisbon Falls. During the incident, one of the juvenile victims was assaulted. The suspects then fled north through Huston Park.
Lisbon Police Officers responded immediately and met with the juvenile victims. Based on the seriousness of the incident and the report of a firearm, a coordinated search effort was quickly established.
The Lisbon Police Department and its Lisbon K9 unit were assisted by numerous law enforcement and public safety partners, including the Androscoggin County Sheriff's Office K-9 Team, Brunswick Police Department K-9 Team, Sagadahoc County Sheriff's Office, Topsham Police Department, Maine State Police, and Androscoggin County Emergency Management Agency.
Androscoggin County Emergency Management Agency provided aerial drone support, while officers established a perimeter and searched the area. A shelter-in-place order was issued for the affected neighborhood during the operation to ensure public safety. During the search, K9 units located a fire that had been started in the woods, while tracking the suspects.
During the investigation, Lisbon Police Officers apprehended one juvenile suspect in Huston Park after refusing to submit to arrest, who was confirmed to be involved in the incident. A second juvenile suspect was later located and apprehended by Lisbon Police Officers in Durham. The firearm used in the incident was also recovered.
As a precaution during the incident, officers from the Topsham Police Department were stationed at the MTM Center to provide security while parents arrived to pick up children. The Parks and Recreation Director issued notifications to families advising them of the lockdown and releasing children to parents from the after-school program.
Because the individuals involved are juveniles, their identities will not be released.
