Ohio Revised Code 1503.18 prohibits most open burning in unincorporated areas in March, April, May, October, and November between 6am and 6pm. Ohio's fall wildfire season is here. Anyone burning during legal hours is urged to check the weather first, keep water and tools within reach, never walk away from a fire, and check with their local fire department about conditions. If you are a resident and plan on burning during legal hours, contact us at 330-424-7853 or 330-424-5606.

Today the West Point Fire Dept. went out and spent some time going over vehicle extraction. Personnel practiced their skills operating the spreaders and cutters removing doors from the vehicle so patients can be extracted from the vehicle safely. This is to prepare themselves for when they need to use these skills in a real life situation. We would like to extend a thank you to Prime Towing & Services LLC for providing these vehicles so we could do this training

The West Point Fire Department will be attending the West Point Lions Club Community Day Saturday, August, 22nd from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Come out, say hello, and support the Lions Club! While we are there, we will be hosting a Community CPR class! This will be free for the entire community who wants to learn how to do CPR. You will not receive a physical card for this. However, if you would like a CPR card, we can discuss options there to get a class set up. We can’t wait to see all of you there!
