Our friends at the US National Weather Service Cheyenne Wyoming shared some images with us providing information on wildfire preparedness and response. We remain in critical fire danger due to the gusty winds and low humidity. Please use extreme caution and do not burn as we remain under Stage 1 Fire Restrictions in Goshen County. US National Weather Service Cheyenne Wyoming has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for our area:

The National Weather Service in Cheyenne has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
West central Goshen County in southeastern Wyoming...
Southern Platte County in southeastern Wyoming...

* Until 300 PM MDT.

* At 212 PM MDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line from
east of Wheatland towards west of Chugwater, moving east at 20 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and half dollar size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage
to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include...
Lingle, Chugwater, Slater, Grayrocks Reservoir, Bordeaux, and
Veteran.

This includes Interstate 25 in Wyoming between mile markers 48 and
72.

Thunderstorms will affect much of the region this afternoon and evening. Some storms may be strong or severe, capable of producing damaging winds, very large hail, and a tornado or two. The primary area concern is far southeast Wyoming and the Nebraska panhandle.

The US National Weather Service Cheyenne Wyoming has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for our area until 9 p.m. The watch area extends largely east and north of us, but we are included. Please stay tuned to your local radio stations and keep an eye on the sky if you are working outdoors.

There is a risk of strong to marginally severe thunderstorms this afternoon as a cold front moves south across the area. The most favorable area will be south of the North Platte River Valley towards the I-80 corridor. Hail and strong gusty winds are possible.

April 22nd, 5AM - High Wind Watches across southeast Wyoming have been upgraded to High Wind Warnings, with gusts between 60 and 70 mph possible. The typical wind prone areas could see gusts upwards of 80 mph, especially near the I-80 Summit and Bordeaux. Use caution if traveling with lightweight or high profile vehicles.
