Deputy Chief Conklin along with Fremont Fire, Harris-Elmore Fire and 230 other firefighters from across Ohio attended the Ohio Fire Chiefs Association winter symposium in Columbus. Networking and talking with legislators on issues that affect the fire service.

Deputy Chief Conklin provided Opposition testimony to Ohio SB 180. This bill would ban the use of foreign made drones by public safety agencies as of May 1, 2027. Prior to testimony, there was a proposed amendment to extend the ban to four years after the bill becomes law (amendment was proposed, NOT voted on). If you are a public entity with a drone program, contact your Senator and express you opposition to the bill.
