When we reminisce on 2025, we’re thinking of our revamped website 🎉 Our improved statistics allow us to identify what our stakeholders value most, and get them their most valued information. Though our stats were only available starting in the last quarter of the year, we are thrilled to start off 2026 with a website that gives stakeholders the information they need in an accessible way.

Take a look at how you have been using our website in the graphic below.

In 2025, East Kaweah GSA, in partnership with the Kaweah Subbasin GSAs, held the State of the Subbasin.

East Kaweah GSA also held The Water Table webinar to give landowners tools to understand Allocation Year 2024 invoicing. Stakeholder relationships are a valuable part of what we do, and we loved meeting you in person and beyond!

Hear from our Executive Director, Mike Hagman, in this letter excerpt from the 2025 Annual Report. ⬇️

"This year has been one of notable progress for local groundwater management after years of revising our Groundwater Sustainability Plan (GSP). This progress would not be possible without our landowners’ diligence and commitment adjusting to the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act."

You can read the full letter on the front page of the Annual Report. 🗞️

Extra! Extra!🗞️ Lisa McEwen from SJVWater reported that the Kaweah Subbasin has avoided state intervention, and the GSAs have transitioned back to the Department of Water Resources’ oversight. 👏

This comes after diligent efforts to make two revisions to the GSP last year to meet both the Department of Water Resources’ and the State Water Resources Control Board’s requirements.

East Kaweah GSA is pleased to continue implementing the GSP locally for stakeholders’ benefit. Read the full article here:

Our very own Mike Hagman and Scott Maskell, alongside the Lindmore Irrigation District Board of Directors and staff, served a BBQ lunch at LID’s Annual Open House earlier this month. 🍗

The Annual Open House was a chance to update growers on Water Year 2024 and discuss current District highlights. East Kaweah’s Program Manager Chris Hunter, who also serves as Lindmore’s Assistant GM, presented on the importance of growers’ understanding their water budget. 💧

💡Big idea? Lindmore surface water + precipitation credits + groundwater allocation = total available water supply for your farming operation.

Knowing this is key to managing water operations to continue farming long-term. As a member agency of the East Kaweah GSA, Lindmore plays a huge role in pushing Groundwater Sustainability Plan progress forward. 🤝

https://conta.cc/4kET7Be

The updates include highlighting East Kaweah GSA's own Vice Chair Craig Hornung who shared his perspective as a grower and GSA leader on Groundwater Resources Association of California's SGMA Summit & Legislative Forum in May. 💧 Kait Palys, Water Resources Scientist at INTERA and one of the GSA’s consultants who shepherded the development of the Mitigation Plan, moderated the panel.

The audience included many representatives of GSAs who are in the process of developing their own Mitigation Programs.

East Kaweah GSA’s insights on the development of a mitigation plan and program served as an example for surrounding subbasins and GSAs to glean from.🤝
