BOAT SAFETY STARTS WITH YOU

The Village of Lindenhurst reminds all boaters that safety on the water is everyone’s responsibility.

Whether you’re heading out for a day on the Great South Bay, cruising through our canals, fishing with friends, or enjoying time with family on the water, making safety a priority helps protect everyone who enjoys Lindenhurst’s waterfront.

Remember:

⚓ Observe all no-wake zones and speed restrictions.

⚓ Always operate your vessel in a safe and prudent manner.

⚓ Be aware of other boaters, kayakers, paddleboarders, and waterfront residents.

⚓ Respect our canals, waterways, docks, and marinas.

⚓ Wear life jackets and ensure proper safety equipment is onboard.

⚓ Never boat under the influence.

⚓ Help protect our shoreline, wildlife, and environment by keeping our waters clean.

Safe boating helps prevent accidents, protects property, preserves our waterways, and ensures everyone can enjoy everything that makes Lindenhurst’s waterfront special.

The Village encourages all residents and visitors to boat responsibly, respect their neighbors on the water, and make safety their first priority every time they leave the dock.

Today We Remember D-Day

On June 6, 1944, thousands of brave Allied troops stormed the beaches of Normandy in what would become the largest seaborne invasion in history.

Americans, alongside allies from across the world, risked everything to defend freedom and liberate Europe from tyranny.

Today, we honor the courage, sacrifice, and determination of those who answered the call on D-Day and helped shape the world we live in today.

Their legacy reminds us that freedom is never free and that ordinary people can accomplish extraordinary things when united by a common purpose.

The Village of Lindenhurst proudly remembers the heroes of the Greatest Generation.

May we never forget
