We would like to thank Pleasant Hill’s Librarian, Becky Guthrie for the invitation to kick off National Library Card Month with some of her students. Third, Fourth, and Fifth graders learned about Andrew Carnegie and his role in building libraries all across the world, and through his generosity the Linden Carnegie Library was built. For a fun tie-in to National Library Card month we challenged the kids to a card house-building challenge, and were impressed with their work! First and Second graders listened to ‘Moose’s Book Bus’ by Inga Moore, about a moose who loved to read and share stories with his family and neighbors… so much so that he creates a mobile library to get books to all of the animals in the woods. Check out the paper bag moose puppets they made afterwards. Come see us at the library this month to get your card!
