Tonight, Friday, 3/25/2022, Family: This is Family Night again. Potluck at 6:30 followed by Bingo (free with cash prizes) at Post 15

Pat Taylor, 3d District 1st Vice, had his home demolished by the tornado near Longview this week. He, his wife, Liz, and their son were out of the house and were uninjured, but their home was demolished. They report that there is little needed at this point, except their clothes are gone. Below are the sizes needed. If you have some new or gently used clothes, please bring them Friday night to the potluck or else Saturday morning to the post. If Saturday morning, you can leave them on the porch, as there will be a 3d District meeting at our post. Pat will be in attendance and will be able to carry your donations home.

Family: Tomorrow's workday, Saturday, March 19, 2022, starts at 9:00 AM. This is important, as we need to get our Post ready for the 3d District meeting next weekend. Please come and help. "Many hands make for light work."

From Jack Bagwell: 3/19 Saturdays agenda -
1. Cut and drag tree from water near north dock.
2. Water seal wood on entry signs, porch railing, picnic tables, pavilion table, park benches scattered around lake.
3. Clear dirt away from wood foundation north end of meet room
4. Remove tee post from parking area.
5. Blow pine needles from all the buildings and structures.
5. Trim hedges.
6. Cut trees for building fencing.
7. Clean camping restrooms.
8. Paint and water treat stage.

It's going to be a beautiful day, bring your gloves and chainsaw. The Legion will provide rakes, shovels, paint brushes, water and soft drinks. Thank you for supporting your Lindale post, CR 498.

On March 1, VA announced its intention of adding nine rare respiratory cancers to the list of presumed service-connected disabilities in relation to exposure to toxic chemicals in the air, water, or soil for Veterans who served any amount of time in the Southwest Asia theater of operations.

Veterans, dependents and survivors who had claims previously denied for any of the below respiratory cancers would be encouraged to file a new or supplemental claim for benefits once the rule-making process is complete:

Squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) of the larynx;
SCC of the trachea;
Adenocarcinoma of the trachea;
Salivary gland-type tumors of the trachea;
Adenosquamous carcinoma of the lung;
Large cell carcinoma of the lung;
Salivary gland-type tumors of the lung;
Sarcomatoid carcinoma of the lung and;
Typical and atypical carcinoid of the lung.

Any Veteran who had one of these cancers manifest to a degree of 0% or more at any time during or after separation would be eligible for service-connection.
