Healthcare is only borderline functional in America. What's the biggest difference between US and where it works better? Health Insurance Companies. Republicans, with some Dems going along in the spirit of "compromise" (but really thanks to lobbying and political donations - reverse & repeal CitizensUnited) have given "management contracts" to Health Insurance Companies for Medicaid & Medicare, thereby doubling (or more) bureaucratic redundancy and adding layers of highly paid profit seeking executives to the healthcare process. And yes, pharmaceutical profit gouging (again - thanks to political donations due to CitizensUnited) is also a problem. "The love of money is the root of all evil".

What could possibly go wrong...
A new proposal would make it easier for North Carolina county boards of election to throw out ballots of people who don’t show photo ID when they vote.

Under the proposal, county boards would no longer have to agree unanimously that voters lied about the reasons they didn’t have ID. A majority on the county boards, on which Republicans currently hold three of five seats, could determine that voters were lying and reject their ballots.
