More great news for Buffalo Grove Library lovers! 📚🦬

Residents can now visit either the Indian Trails or Vernon Area libraries to verify their residency and walk away with a fully active library card, regardless of which service area their home falls within, thanks to a new intergovernmental agreement.

Both libraries can now verify residency and issue cards for the neighboring district on the spot, providing a "one-stop" registration experience, so you don’t have to know which district you reside in. Both the Vernon Area and Indian Trails Library share the same database, catalog, and registration procedures, allowing you to use one card at both libraries.

In case you missed it, neighbors in Buffalo Grove no longer have to worry about which side of the street they live on when it comes to checking out library books.

🎶 Bring the family out for a night of music and dessert! Summer in the Shire Concert: One Foot in the Groove is happening on Thursday, June 18 from 7–9 pm in the Vernon Area Library Learning Garden. No signup required. Bring a lawn chair or blanket, and enjoy hits from legendary rock bands brought to life by One Foot in the Groove.

Kona Ice and JEAN Sweets LLC will be on-site with treats for purchase.

Police officers from Village of Lincolnshire - Government and Village of Buffalo Grove read stories and shared safety tips with families yesterday during Books & Badges storytime. Then patrons enjoyed visiting with Grady the therapy dog and exploring the police vehicles. Thank you to our police officers for taking the time to do this program for us! 🚔

Don't let literacy take a vacation! 🏝️ Have your child practice reading with one of our Junior Volunteers.

Students in grades 1–5 can sign up for a 15-minute time slot to read to one of the library's Junior Volunteers. This practice will build confidence in reading skills, and kids will be encouraged by a teen reading buddy.
