September 11, 2001 — We Remember.
Today, the Lincolnshire-Riverwoods Fire Protection District pauses to remember the lives lost and the countless lives forever changed on September 11, 2001.

We honor the 343 firefighters and 23 NYPD officers, along with the other first responders and civilians who made the ultimate sacrifice that day. Their courage, selflessness, and commitment to protecting others remain a lasting example of the very best of the fire service and our nation.

We also remember the families who lost loved ones, the survivors, and the generations of first responders who have carried the physical and emotional impact of that day.

As firefighters, we understand the responsibility that comes with answering the call when others need help. September 11 reminds us of the courage required to run toward danger, the importance of standing together, and the enduring bond shared by first responders everywhere.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget.

Our Drone Team provides another critical resource to our community — using advanced drone technology to assist in search and rescue operations and locating missing or endangered individuals.
From above, our trained drone operators can cover large areas quickly, search difficult or dangerous terrain, and provide valuable information to crews on the ground. Every minute matters during a search, and having an aerial perspective can make a tremendous difference.
Whether we're responding to a fire, a medical emergency, or a call to help find someone who needs to be brought home safely, the Lincolnshire-Riverwoods Fire Protection District is prepared to serve our community.

August was another busy and rewarding month for the Lincolnshire-Riverwoods Fire Department! We’re proud to welcome two new members to the department, bringing our total to 8 new members. Their dedication and commitment strengthen our team and our ability to serve the community.

We also took time to recognize the outstanding work of our members. Congratulations to those who received department recognition and the EMS Commendation Award! Your professionalism, compassion, and dedication to providing exceptional service to our residents do not go unnoticed. 🏆🚑

Thank you to every member of the Lincolnshire-Riverwoods Fire Department for the countless hours spent training, responding, and serving our community. We’re proud of the team we continue to build and the work we do together.

One of the most rewarding parts of being a Lincolnshire-Riverwoods firefighter is having the opportunity to give back to and connect with our community.

We had the pleasure of hosting a Stevenson High School Student who is considering a career in the medical field. She spent time with our crews to gain a better understanding of what patients experience before they arrive at the hospital, and to learn more about the role emergency responders play in patient care.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to share our experiences and support the next generation of healthcare professionals. We wish her the very best of luck as she explores her future career path!

Some people think after the initial emergency, the fire department is done. That is far from the case. Today we helped a resident walk their dog after the family member was treated by our crew.
