Many have expressed interest in continuing to practice to better their skills with their fi****ms. We are proud to provide this service and look forward to completing another class in the near future.

We have received several calls regarding cell phone alerts advising residents to evacuate. At this time, there is no danger and no need to evacuate within the City of Lincoln.

City officials and emergency services are aware of the concerns and are monitoring the situation. If an evacuation or other emergency action becomes necessary, information will be provided through official City of Lincoln and emergency management channels

UPDATE, 4 p.m. - US 78 is now open.

City of Pell City emergency crews are on the scene of a commercial vehicle accident on US 78 near Bamberg Drive that occurred on the morning of Friday, June 5, 2026.

A tanker truck carrying liquid overturned, causing partial road closures. Emergency services responded promptly to the scene.

No leaks have been detected. However, the contents of the tanker are classified as a flammable liquid. As a standard safety precaution, officials are conducting a localized evacuation of the immediate area while the tanker is safely emptied. All affected local businesses have been notified.

"Our teams responded quickly, and the situation is entirely under control," said Pell City Fire Chief Jerry Dailey. "There is no immediate danger to the public, and we are taking these steps strictly out of an abundance of caution to ensure the scene remains safe during the offloading process."

Drivers are asked to avoid the area and plan alternate routes until further notice. Updates will be provided as they become available.

We invite any concerned citizens to attend a council meeting.

The Lincoln Police Department currently employs 8 patrol officers, 2 K9 officers, 3 Lieutenants, 2 Investigators, a Captain, and a Chief.

From March 1, 2026, through 8 am today, May 11, 2026, our officers have issued 670 traffic citations and 335 warnings.

Of those 670 citations, we issued:

148 on Highway 78.
101 on Highway 77.
59 on Magnolia Street.
57 on 207.

These traffic stops were made in addition to responding to calls for service in the police jurisdiction. A call for service is anything an Officer is dispatched to (911 hang ups, requests for assistance by Fire/EMS, motor vehicle accidents, crime reports, etc.).

We are incredibly lucky to have received a grant through ADECA to allow us to have Officers come in on their days off to work traffic enforcement when they are able.

These numbers do not include any verbal warnings issued by officers.

We would like to take a moment to congratulate Chief Daniel Phipps on his promotion to Chief of Police of Oxford Police Department. Chief Phipps has some really big shoes to fill taking the place of Chief Partridge.

We also want to wish Chief Partridge a very happy, well deserved retirement; Chief Partridge not only developed Oxford Police Department into the premier law enforcement agency in our area, but also helped bring EMACC to Oxford which has provided small departments like ours with technology we wouldn’t otherwise have access to.
