Meet Rufus, our adorable 12‑week‑old trainee with Domesti-PUPS!

Rufus is spending the next six weeks at the Nebraska Correctional Center for Women (NCCW), where he’ll begin his early training and socialization. After that, he’ll head out for six weeks with a volunteer in the community, who will introduce him to new environments and work on new skills.

Rufus will then return to NCCW for another six weeks as he continues his journey toward becoming a fully trained service dog.

Sidewalk artists at the Omaha Correctional Center (OCC) participated in the Kim Foundation's Chalk It Up for Brighter Tomorrows, applying their talents to spread messages of hope and connection during World Su***de Prevention Week.

Chalk It Up for Brighter Tomorrows is an Omaha-wide campaign to fill sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, and other spaces with messages of hope and encouragement that someone may see at the moment they need it most. The Kim Foundation works to prevent su***de and support those impacted by educating and cultivating a community where mental wellness thrives.

We’re celebrating five more graduates of Persevere ! These women at the Community Corrections Center - Lincoln have spent a year in this full stack development coding certification program, with training that has given them the ability to use coding and other technology skills to gain employment upon release.

A national non-profit organization, Persevere also provides job placement services, instruction in soft skills for the work environment, life skills education, mentoring support, entrepreneurial training, and training opportunities to the children of incarcerated individuals.

Thank you to our community partners, as well as the peer teacher assistants, who helped these graduates reach this milestone!
